Victoria Modern Renovation

Project Overview

A high performance home without sacrificing aesthetics. This was the owners’ goal of this 1960’s vintage Victoria home. To achieve it they turned to designer Ryan Hoyt of Ryan Hoyt Design. Working closely with the homeowners, they designed and renovated a home that not only dazzles with contemporary chic, but also utilizes the latest in energy efficient construction techniques.

Confluence Performance and Design

To help achieve this confluence of performance and design, Innotech supplied a number of our premium triple glazed Tilt + Turn Windows and exterior doors. The durable triple seal system provides the air tightness, water resistance and thermal performance demanded by today’s discerning home builders – and their occupants. To attractively contrast the natural building materials the windows and doors are resplendent in our popular black exterior finish.

By far, this home has the most high-performance building enclosure I have seen installed in a single family dwelling. Most of the time we pursue the aesthetic and end up with the bare minimum of high performance ‘behind the walls’ features. However, in this concept-driven home, we ticked all the boxes of both an aesthetically pleasing product and high-performance design.”

– Ryan Hoyt, Modern Home Victoria

Terry Bergen, Managing Principal at Read Jones Christoffersen Ltd, noted the importance of high-performance windows and doors in realizing his goal of building a highly energy efficient home: “Innotech and the horsepower we get out of the fenestration is a key component in achieving the performance goals.”

Today, the home is nearly unrecognizable from its former self. The exterior lines may hint at its lineage, but the combination of materials, colours, architectural lines, and landscaping have left behind any vestiges of the swinging sixties. Plus, thanks to its energy efficient upgrades both inside and out, the home is prepared for the realities of 21st century living!
