Timeless Form

Careful material selection and detailing give the home a quiet, enduring character. Thoughtfully integrated storage, efficient spatial planning, and durable finishes support everyday functionality while creating spaces that feel warm, calm, and highly livable throughout every season. Durable finishes, integrated storage, and efficient planning create spaces that feel warm and calm in every season.

The house is designed to the passive house standard. Of necessity, this standard requires passive energy capture through an enhanced building envelope along with minimizing exterior surface area relative to floor area.”

Positioning, size and installation of the PHI-certified windows and doors ensure the home achieved its cold climate certification. The large south facing windows provide as much as one third of the total heating energy required to keep the home warm throughout the winter months. In summer, the windows are protected by the deep set installation within the walls.

Cold Climate Certified Windows

Passive House Institute cold climate certified Defender 88PH+ XI windows were positioned within the insulation layer to optimize thermal performance. Intentional positioning and specified solar heat gain coefficients balance passive solar gain across seasons.

Cool Temperate Certified Doors

Complementing the window system, Innotech’s Defender 88PH+ Pro exterior doors — PHI cool temperate certified — complete a continuous, high-performance building envelope. Together, the two systems demonstrate how precision product specification directly supports exceptional indoor comfort and long-term sustainability in one of Canada’s most demanding climates.
