Sustainable Alternative

Thousands of people work in remote areas in northern British Columbia and Alberta in the oil and gas, mining and forestry industries. As a result, there is a housing shortage and the workforce lives in temporary camps. Borealis addresses this housing shortage by providing a sustainable alternative that offers comfort and privacy.

Designed to be net-zero, Borealis features many green building technologies, including a 10 killowatt photovoltaic array and solar thermal tubes, a living wall in the bathroom, and an energy recovery system.

The three modules – a service module flanked by two residencial modules – also feature Innotech triple glazed Terrace Swing Doors, Tilt + Turn Doors and Tilt + Turn Windows, as well as an Entry Door.
