Phase After Phase
As we continue our Performance Starts with People series, we visit Skaha Hills in Penticton, British Columbia, with Kim Upton of Greyback Construction to explore the value of long-term partnerships in a multi-phase development.
Overlooking Skaha Lake, Skaha Hills is a 550-acre master-planned community of energy-efficient homes in a resort-inspired setting. The development broke ground in 2014, and its first phase earned a Tommie Gold Award for building energy efficiency. Since then, the community has continued to grow through multiple phases of single-family and multi-family housing.
A Proven Choice
Innotech’s relationship with Skaha Hills began modestly. Our windows and doors were initially offered as an upgrade, with ten homeowners selecting Innotech products in the first phase. Positive feedback from Greyback and homeowners led to an important shift: Innotech windows and doors became the standard choice for homes throughout the development.
For a developer, that continuity has real value. Working with a trusted manufacturer across multiple phases means the project team knows the product, understands the process and has an established relationship to rely on. It reduces the need to start from scratch with every new phase and creates greater consistency in quality and delivery.
“I started working with Nikolay, a little more than 25 years ago. He’s the one supplier that has been consistently excellent.”
– Kim Upton, Greyback Construction
Quality That Adds Value
The benefits extend beyond construction. Skaha Hills promotes energy efficiency, premium materials and quality construction as part of the value it offers homebuyers. Its current homeowner stories also point to the quality, craftsmanship and energy efficiency of their Greyback-built homes as important parts of the ownership experience.
For developers, choosing the right manufacturing partners can therefore do more than simplify project delivery. A proven product can become part of the development’s story helping build buyer confidence and reinforcing the value of the homes themselves.
Watch Phase After Phase to hear Kim’s perspective on why strong manufacturer relationships matter, not just for one project, but for the long-term success of a community.
