Energy-Efficient Windows
A striking wall of energy-efficient windows is a defining feature of the main living area, complementing the vaulted ceiling and bringing a sense of openness to the compact space. In the primary bedroom, large windows and doors open onto the deck, extending the living space outdoors. Corner windows beside the ensuite soaker tub add a distinctive architectural detail while creating a bright, relaxing space.
These windows frame a beautiful view of the river valley below and are also incredibly energy efficient.”
– Builder, Chris Klaassen, Co-Owner of Alair Homes
Energy efficiency was a key priority for the homeowners, with the project achieving BC Energy Step Code Level 5 targets through testing. High-performance windows and doors contribute to the building envelope, supporting energy efficiency and indoor comfort while allowing for generous glazing and carefully framed views. The project demonstrates how thoughtful fenestration choices can balance architectural design with the performance demands of a high-efficiency home.
